Early MVP and currently unsigned: Windows SmartScreen may show an “unknown publisher” warning on first install. Choose More info, confirm the file came from dl.knodr.com, then select Run anyway.
Linux first launch: run chmod +x Knodr-linux.AppImage before opening it. The AppImage needs a FUSE 2 runtime — libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04, fuse or libfuse2 on most other distributions — or launch it with --appimage-extract-and-run if FUSE isn't available. UI-automation and container/scoped-process nodes are Windows-only in this phase.
macOS first launch: this early build is unsigned and not notarized, so Gatekeeper may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. The build currently targets Apple silicon Macs.

Headless CLI

No GUI, no FUSE dependency: install just the knodr runner and MCP server for the current user.

One setup, three surfaces

Everything you need is in the bundle

The installer and portable ZIP both include the visual app, the headless runner, and the agent-facing server. They share one runtime and update together, so a flow behaves the same whichever surface starts it.

Build flows on the canvas, edit node settings, inspect live values, use breakpoints, and replay individual nodes.

Validate and execute the same .knodrflow files from PowerShell, scripts, or CI without opening the app.

Connect an MCP client to the CLI's built-in stdio server so agents can author, validate, run, and debug flows.

Install Knodr

Windows

    Open Knodr-win-Setup.exe from your Downloads folder and approve the Windows prompt.

    Launch the app

    Velopack installs Knodr for your Windows user and opens the desktop graph editor.

    Keep it current

    Future releases are detected from the Knodr update feed and applied when you restart.

Linux (AppImage)

    Make it executable

    From your Downloads folder, run chmod +x Knodr-linux.AppImage once.

    Launch it directly

    Run ./Knodr-linux.AppImage. It opens straight into the desktop graph editor.

    Keep it current

    Future releases are detected from the same Knodr update feed and applied to the AppImage in place; relaunch to pick up the update.

No installer, no admin prompt: the AppImage is the whole app. There's nothing to install or uninstall — re-download it to replace the old copy.

macOS (Apple silicon)

    Run the package

    Open Knodr-osx-Setup.pkg, or extract the all-in-one portable ZIP if you prefer an unpacked build.

    Approve the first launch

    If Gatekeeper blocks the unsigned build, allow it from System Settings → Privacy & Security.

    Enable automation when needed

    Grant the bundled macOS automation component access under Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Build your first flow

Knodr opens on the visual editor. A small flow is enough to learn the core interaction:

Add a starting value

Place an Input Value or Manual Input node on the canvas.

Connect some work

Add a text, script, HTTP, agent, or AI node and connect compatible ports.

Preview the result

Connect a Preview node, run the graph, and inspect each node’s inputs and outputs.

Flows are saved as readable .knodrflow files, so you can keep them alongside a project, review changes, and share them through Git.

Automatic updates

The installed app checks the public Velopack feed at dl.knodr.com. When a newer release is available, Knodr downloads it in the background and offers to restart into the updated version.

The GUI, bundled CLI, MCP server, and platform automation component are delivered together and updated as one release. On Linux, the same feed updates the .AppImage in place — Velopack replaces the file, and the bundled CLI updates with it.

Prefer a portable build?

Download the ZIP when you want an unpacked copy that can run from a folder. The installer is recommended for the standard desktop experience and automatic updates.

On Linux, the AppImage is already the portable format — a single relocatable file with no install step. The headless tarball is the equivalent for the CLI-only bundle.

On Apple silicon macOS, download the all-in-one portable ZIP for the desktop app, CLI, MCP server, and macOS automation component, or the headless CLI tarball.
